Frontpro
Frontpro chewable tablets for dogs can be used to combat ticks, fleas, demodicosis (also known as puppy mange), and scabies:
- For the treatment of tick infestations in dogs (Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus). One treatment kills ticks for up to one month. Fleas and ticks must attach to the host and feed to be exposed to the active ingredient. Frontpro kills ticks within 48 hours.
- For the treatment of flea infestations in dogs (Ctenocephalides felis and C. canis) for at least 5 weeks. The product can be used as part of a program to control flea allergy dermatitis (VAD). Frontpro kills fleas within 8 hours.
- For the treatment of demodicosis, also known as puppy mange (caused by Demodex canis).
- For the treatment of scabies (caused by Sarcoptes scabiei var. canis).
Frontpro Dosage
Frontpro contains the active ingredient Afoxolaner and should be administered orally at a dosage of 2.7–7 mg/kg body weight, according to the following table:
Use an appropriate combination of chewable tablets of different/same strength for dogs over 50 kg body weight. Tablets should not be divided.
Frontpro Side Effects
The most common side effects of Frontpro are mild gastrointestinal effects (vomiting, diarrhea), itching, lethargy, anorexia, and neurological symptoms (seizures, ataxia, and muscle tremors). These side effects have been reported very rarely.
