Bravecto

Bravecto is a tasty chewable tablet for dogs that provides up to 12 weeks of protection against fleas and ticks.

Active Ingredient

The active ingredient in Bravecto is fluralaner. Fluralaner has a flea-killing and tick-killing effect. After taking the chewable tablet, fluralaner is absorbed into the blood. Fleas and ticks attach to your dog and begin to feed. Thus, they are exposed to the active ingredient, and the effect occurs within 8 hours (fleas) to 12 hours (ticks). The efficacy against fleas and ticks lasts for 12 weeks, but against the tick R. sanguineus, Bravecto only works for 8 weeks.

Since the active ingredient is in your dog, you do not come into contact with it when petting your dog, and your dog can swim or be washed without restriction.

Administration

Administer Bravecto chewable tablets during or around a meal and dose according to the table below:

The chewable tablets should not be broken or divided. For dogs over 56 kg, a combination of two tablets should be used that best fits the body weight.

Use during pregnancy, lactation and in puppies

Bravecto is suitable for pregnant and lactating dogs. It can also be safely used in Collies and other breeds with a MDR1 defect. Bravecto should not be used in puppies less than 8 weeks or dogs weighing less than 2 kg.

Adverse reactions

1.6% of the treated dogs during a clinical study showed mild and transient gastro-intestinal symptoms like diarrhoea, vomiting, salivation and lack of appetite.
