Clomicalm
When do you use Clomicalm for your dog?
Clomicalm reduces anxiety in your dog, which helps it to be able to be alone at home without being scared. Abandonment anxiety or separation anxiety in your dog can be recognised by different symptoms. When your dog breaks a lot of things, is unclean, barks a lot when the animal is at home by itself, has less appetite, vomits or has diarrhea, then all of these are signs of stress. The dog only shows these symptoms when the animal is home alone. The dog follows you wherever you go, when you are at home again. Clomicalm, with the active substance Clomipramine, helps dogs that suffer from stress due to abandonment anxiety, separation anxiety and fireworks anxiety.
Fear can influence and even block the dog's ability to learn. The use of Clomicalm can ensure that you can teach your dog new behavior. With Clomicalm you can ensure that behavioural therapy can work (again) and thus a faster recovery can be achieved.
How does Clomicalm work?
Clomicalm contains the active ingredient Clomipramine. Clomipramine interacts with neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are substances in the dog's brain that transmit chemical signals from one nerve cell to another. Clomicalm ensures that the messages from your dog's brain are transmitted better. When few of these neurotransmitters are present in the central nervous system, symptoms such as depression, anxiety or aggression can occur. Clomipramine ensures that behavioural problems in dogs with abandonment anxiety, separation anxiety or fear of fireworks are alleviated.
Clomicalm should be administered twice a day, with or without food. For the exact dosage and period of use, please follow the prescription provided by your vet.
What are the side effects of Clomicalm?
Clomicalm is a safe medicine for your dog. At the start of treatment with Clomicalm, your dog may experience mild side effects. Think of stomach and intestinal complaints. When your dog needs to vomit, try administering the drug with some food. If your dog continues to experience side effects, contact your vet immediately.
For dogs with heart problems or epilepsy it is important that use and dosage are prescribed in consultation with a veterinarian. Clomicalm should not be used with stud dogs.
