Duodrops
Includes a combination of two viscosity-increasing substances: cellulose derivative and povidone.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • The tear film on the eye is made up of three layers, namely an outer grease-layer, a middle aqueous layer and an inner mucin layer that provides bonding to the eye. DUODROPS contains two viscosity-increasing substances (povidone and cellulose). Because of this the tear film becomes even more stabilized.
  • Due to the use of povidone and cellulose derivative, the viscosity of the tear doesn’t need to be unnecessarily high, so that eye irritation due to the viscosity may be prevented.
  • DUODROPS is a sterile, viscous, neutral and isotonic liquid. It lowers the surface tension. Due to the special choice of the excipients, the fluid is not harmful to the corneal and conjunctival epithelium. Nor allergic reactions occur on the conjunctiva and eyelids.
  • The preservative not disturbs the stability of the tear film.
  • DUODROPS doesn’t contain calcium-withdrawing materials and is therefore not harmful for the intercellular binding of the epithelial cells of the cornea.
